Help & Guides
Send content to your Syncpen inbox via email or browser extension. Everything lands in your Inbox folder as new documents.
Email to Inbox
Forward emails, send notes, or share content to your personal Syncpen email address. Each email becomes a new document in your Inbox folder.
Setting Up Email Inbox
- Go to Settings (click your avatar in the sidebar)
- Find the Email Inbox section
- Toggle Enable email inbox to on
- Copy your unique email address (e.g.,
abc123@inbox.syncpen.io)
How It Works
When you send an email to your Syncpen address, the subject becomes the document title, and the email body becomes the content. Attachments are not currently supported.
Use Cases
- Forward newsletters — Save interesting articles for later
- Quick notes — Email yourself from any device
- Share from apps — Many apps let you share via email
- Save receipts — Forward confirmation emails to keep records
Syncpen Clipper
Clip web content directly from your browser using the Syncpen clipper extension or API.
What You Can Clip
- Text selections — Highlight text and clip it
- Images — Save images from any webpage
- Full pages — Capture entire articles
Setting Up the Clipper
- Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store using the button above
- Go to Settings and find API Keys; create a new key named "Browser Clipper"
- Copy the API key and paste it into the extension to connect it to your account
Inbox Folder
All clipped and emailed content arrives in your Inbox folder. This special folder:
- Is created automatically when you receive your first item
- Shows all incoming content in one place
- Lets you move documents to other folders for organization
Identifying Imported Content
Documents created via email or clipper show an arrow icon () to help you identify imported content at a glance.
Tips
- Add your inbox email to contacts — Makes it easy to forward emails quickly
- Process your inbox regularly — Move documents to appropriate folders or delete what you don't need
- Use Folder AI — Summarize or analyze multiple clippings at once
Your inbox email address is private and unique to you. If you suspect it's been compromised, you can regenerate it in Settings.
